Detroit Santarchy is a pub crawl in Downtown Detroit where everyone dresses as Christmas characters. This event is not organized by Darby Connections by many of us will be going. The organizers do not have all of the details yet except the date.
Typically, the organizers get a bunch of school busses that serve as transportation throughout the night. The buses start as a shuttle service from various communities like Royal Oak, Ferndale, Plymouth, Livonia, etc. The busses ship everyone to the Gaelic League in Corktown (Detroit) where you get your bus pass for the night. You do not have to take the busses to the Gaelic League. You can drive yourself there.
The Gaelic League typically has music and of course drinks. Then people load up on the busses and do a Hop-On Hop-Off circuit around Detroit. At the end of the night, the busses shuttle people back to the towns they started off in.
Dressing up is MANDITORY! Most people have a Santa hat and jacket. The best people get creative!
