Halloween is the last big-time party event before Put-in-Bay shuts up shop for the season and transforms from a Midwest vacation getaway into a tiny island community. Put-in-Bay is a small island near Sandusky, Ohio known as a great party destination. It has a cute downtown with plenty of bars and hotels. 

What that means for you is that if you come to Put-in-Bay Halloween you get an island going all out. That’s the hallmark of the Halloween Boo Bash at the Bay! The main hub for the Put-in-Bay Halloween festivities is, as it so often is with big events at the Bay, Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grille. Mr. Ed’s will be hosting events all weekend, including cash prize costume contests! All of downtown joins in on the fun, with most of the bars joining the festivities with their own events.

Some of our members have been doing this event for the past four years and had a lot of fun. This year we are making a push to get a larger group to go. We are letting you know know so that you can mark it on your calendars! You don't have to be in costume, but why be lame?

Lodging 

You can stay on the Island, but it is limited & more expensive with many requiring two night minimums. In the past, the group has spent one night, Saturday night, at a hotel in Port Clinton, OH, as it is walking distance from the Jet Express Ferry Docks back from the Island. Here are the two closest hotels in Port Clinton where you can make your own reservations. They are about $100 per night.

Tentative Event Schedule

• 11:00am - Meet as a group for lunch at the “Original” Tony Packo’s  in Toledo. This is the restaurant made famous by Jamie Farr’s character, “Klinger” on the TV show *M*A*S*H*
• 2:00pm - Check into Port Clinton hotel & put on costumes.
• 4:00pm - Meet for Appetizers & Drinks at McCarthy Irish Pub
• 6:30pm – Walk over to the Jet Express Ferry.
• Party till the last Ferry back 12:00am (Midnight)
• Sunday - African Safari Wildlife Park
